wh5208speed

Just got to the auction this morning. The previous owner was a collector until he passed and his wife was cleaning out the garage. There is 12 wheel horses....mostly c-series, mowers, snow blades, tiller, snowblower and all kinds of parts. Hopefully can snag a few this morning! ðŸ˜

Well.... We left with 3 tractors. C-161-A ($375), C-145-A($425), and a C-145-A chassis($90). Also bought front and rear cast iron wheel weights for $110 total and a brand new Nelson C series muffler for $35. I also bought a brand new 42" mower deck (not going to share the price on that one ðŸ˜). Most tractors sold between $300-$500 range. There was a C165-A with cab show blower, mower deck, snow blade, weights that went for $1000. They also sold a real nice commando 8 with front reel mower, mower deck, snow blade, extra tires for $500....it ran like a top.

That was a great way to spend the day. I'd for sure come home with empty pockets from an auction like that.

Eric,

It was a 96' 314-H with 48" Deck. It had around 1,400 hrs. It ran well.....but had some serious leaks on the hydro and hydraulic lift. The infamous fender mount to the back of the shifter plate was broken as you could see the seat & fender rock easily back and forth. The deck was quite...but it did have some patch work. All that considered....it brought $450 or $475.....which I still thought was a good buy.

This auction today got me thinking......I need to make sure to put in my "will" that when they sell off all of my stuff...... to make sure they post it on RedSquare. Didn't seem to be many WH folks there considering how nice this gentleman's collection was. You can see....he really had a thing for the 1980-84 C-series....

Here was flyer for the auction.

looks like you did good today good luck with your new prizes, that wasn't a bad price for the new 42" deck compared to what you would pay at a dealer. i know a guy that use to ask that much for a used deck
