Geno's Meet + Greet

Recommended Posts

Geno

Geno's meet + greet coming to a town near me.  :laughing-rolling:    Saturday Dec 6 is the day beginning at 9AM!

A big one is in the future for next Spring but I thought about what several of you have said on the board, in pm's and on the phone and it makes good sense to try to do something soon to just hang out if nothing else.  Big thing of course is the unpredictability of the weather this time of year.  :eusa-think:

I have 3 dates in mind and would like to know how many can come and what date is best for you.  If weather totally stinks on the date we pick and you guys want to postpone it a week then that can be done also, I am flexible.  If it's not really bad like a snowstorm we can all hang out at the shop, if it's really warm and no rain there is 300 acres to play on right across the street.  I assume bringing tractors or whatever will depend largely on the weather, let me know if I'm wrong there.  This will be a learning experience for me and will make the big Spring one better.  :handgestures-thumbsup:

Please let me know a date from the ones below, and if you plan on bringing anything.  Blue will be here with the big BBQ outfit serving up the food and Sandra said she may whip up some things as well.  :text-woo:   Also let me know what type of sides salads you like.

Dates -

Nov 22 (Sat) REMOVED

Nov 29 (Sat. after t-day) REMOVED

*** Dec 6 (Sat.)

Any other input if I forgot something is appreciated.

Saturday Dec 6 is the day beginning at 9AM!

I think We'll be working on the 22nd ... (i'll know for sure monday on that) but the other dates are good for me ...

I'll bring one of my tractors just for the heck of it ... even if it's just to say that I had one of my tractors in Geno's shop ... or for a group photo (cause you know :text-worthless:

Looking forward to doing some Q and spending some time hanging out talking Horse!

Wow Geno! Really sounds like a good time! I have to wait and see if they plan to start cancer treatments after the 12th and when and where they are going to be. If they don't conflict in any way, I believe either the 29th or the 6th would be the better dates. Just.what everyone else thinks I suppose. If I can get one of my non redsquare wheel horse cohorts to come with me, I'd bring the 701, and either my one friends 310, or my other friends 753 and RJ59. I do hope I can make it, and I'll let you know either way! Thanks for the invite! Dom...

I like the idea Rob has, but in my opinion, that sounds more like a convention than a meet and greet, which there isn't a thing wrong with. What Geno is trying to put together, I believe is a little more low key. A Wheel Horse convention would be a very cool thing to have in motion. I was thinking, in a comparing example, the Mopar Nationals is their "Big Show", and Chryslers at Carlisle is their secondary get together. We have the WHCC show in June, so, what Rob is suggesting would be our "secondary" get together, and that would be awesome! I feel that it would need to be held at a central location so all of us Redsquare members would have the opportunity to attend. Might be something we can all look forward to in the future? :-)

I will probably not be able to make the fall meet and greet... Either my wife will still be in the hospital or I will have a less than one month old baby.

I should be great for the spring one though, assuming I can convince my wife to do it and get babysitting for the youngest :)

On the side note:

I think the convention is a fantastic idea. I also think that Cincinnati would be a fantastic place to hold it. We have good places to have it and Cincinnati is (I believe) within one day's drive of somewhere around 80% of the population. I would love to help in some small way put on something like that.

But as for near-term stuff. the meet and greet is a phenomenal idea I want to meet all you guys. I got to meet Lane Ralph today!

Geno, I like your idea. Theres no chance of me getting away from work and family this fall but if this happens in the spring I'd like to go.

Keep us posted, this could be the best chance for the few of us in the south to attend an event without a 12 hour one way drive.

I used to go to Sylva NC frequently (like every other week) and door to door got down to be just under five hours ... You're probably looking at 6.5 from where you're at ... but I think it'll be worth the trip :)

6.5 isn't unreasonable, I think it'll be worth it too  :)

Whatever you like Blue, I trust your judgement.  I was waiting to see if anyone had a preference and on Firpo's treatment schedule.  Still waiting on peoples preference.  :angry-tappingfoot::ychain:

Hiya Geno...looking like the 6th would be the only likely date I could make it. Will post a full review about treatments on my "take heed" thread in a little bit. Thanks! :-)

DOC in Kentucky

Geno, got your PM. The only one of these dates that is a remote possibility would be Dec. 6th as I go out of town for the Thanksgiving holidays to the St. Louis area. So if that date is the chosen one, I would have about a 50/50 chance of being able to make it.

I made the big show in PA and about 8 local shows this year in Indiana. I love to get together and shoot the breeze about horses but the holiday season is a very busy time for my family.

Pickle

I think this is a great idea Geno - and I would love to visit or participate. However I very rarely have a saturday off the work schedule and sundays are just as bad. With the cold weather we are now experiencing, a spring meetup seems more in tune.
