Rayp 15 #1 Posted August 10, 2014 I have removed the footrest and the collar held by a grub screw, but am unable to remove the next collar and hydraulic cylinder, as shown in the attached photo. There does not appear to be anything holding either of these like another grub screw or pin. Can anyone suggest how to remove these please?
meadowfield 2,545 #2 Posted August 10, 2014 Pretty certain it is still a grub screw, have a look in the manual for hydro lift, it will show the parts
Stormin 9,975 #3 Posted August 10, 2014 The collars are all the same. Held with a grub screw.
Rayp 15 #4 Posted August 11, 2014 Thank you both for your replies. I will have to have another try at locating a grub screw. I did look in the Manual but it did not show anything (see attached extract). Hydraulic cylinder.pdf
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,498 #5 Posted August 12, 2014 Wonder if that is simply a thin wall spacer as shown in the illustration? It does not look thick enough to use a set screw. Try stretching the metal with a series of center punch marks in a single row across the width of it. Should not take much to expand it a few thousandths. I'm thinking it's just rust holding it. Rayp 15 #6 Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks again Garry - I'll give this a try. Ray
Rayp 15 #7 Posted August 20, 2014 After much gentle tapping I am pleased to say I have removed the offending collar which was not held by a fixing but by corrosion. My next query is does anyone know where to purchase the seal kit for the hydraulic cylinder or the sizes of the individual seals required?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,498 #8 Posted August 21, 2014 The part numbers in this manual have been changed up by Toro but they still had them available the last time I checked. Any established hydraulic repair shop should have suitable replacements. Garry
