Has anyone done a build up on this engine, anyone really built one with some good hp numbers I know there is a ton of stuff for the big blocks 10-16's and I haven't found anything really for the smaller K's :banghead: , My plan is for a 200' drag tractor, running in the 8hp and under class using round hood wheel horse.

There is NOTHING available for the small block Kohlers. The only thing you can do is apply some of the "old school" flathead speed secrets and wish for the best.

The design of these engines prohibits the installation of longer stroke crankshafts, big valves, etc. Milling the head is not recommended either because of the thinner castings. (You can deck the block, but not much)

You'd be farther ahead to build a 5hp B&S like the ones used in the junior dragsters. :banghead:

If you know what you need Total Seal will make you a set of gapless rings.

Valve relieving and multi angle valve grinding would help it breath some.

You could have a custom piston made to gain compression.

The old adage applys here.....

"Speed costs money Son,how fast do you want to go?"
