Bell,

I have ALOT more pics that I took. So if let me know if you want them...I can email you them all.

Well...actually I did have the green hat on backwards to take some of the pics...it kept getting in the way of the flash.

I was amazed how well these Rims turned out from the Sand Blaster I borrowed from a buddy of mine.

I also ran a wire brush wheel over them...just to take off the dust coating from the sand. Aluminum oxide seems to be the choice sand/grain. It is expensive, but we can use it over and over again.

Wow, sandblasting makes a really good job of cleaning those rims :USA:

You just need to polish them and seal the shine in with a few coats of clear :banghead: :omg:

Brian,

What kind of sand blaster did you use? It looks like it did a fantastic

job!!!!!!!

Actually the blaster was a home-made jobby.

A ceramic tipped sand blasting gun attached to a air compressor, thats about it. The Aluminum oxide sand was the trick. It won't break down like silica sand. It's well worth it. Be careful....Sand blasting gets addictive. What can I do next? :horseplay:

Thanks for the comments.

How long did it take you to do those 2 wheels?

Here it is stripped down. :USA: I left the front rims on for now, so I can still wheel her around. I'll keep posting from here on the progress through out the restoration. :banghead:

Good Luck. Doing restos can be fun and frustrating but the end results are worth the headaches

Do your self a favor and put diff. front tires on it to move it around, one slip, with a tool or run into something sharp and good luck finding another tire like that :banghead: and yours look to be in very good shape.

Yea..It's been pretty fun so far. The rear wheels are primed and ready for White. I'm putting the frame on a special set of saw horses, and the front wheels are coming off in a couple days. Tires are coming off (carefully) and going on the shelf for now.

This forum has been awesome. It makes the job a lot easier knowing you have good people backing you up. It's like you guys are here in the garage!

thanks! :banghead:

More to come later :horseplay:

About an hour or so...maybe a little longer... I wasn't as picky on the back side as I was on the front.

Might want to ask around about the valve stems, mine are I think on the outside, I have 2 1045's I'll check tonight after work, maybe someone else will chime in.
