how rare is my wheelhorse 701

im just wanting to know how rare it is some one gave it to me and its in fairly good shape im just wondering is it worth fooling with

Not rare, but very desirable by Wheel Horse collectors. If you search the forum for "Top 5" Wheel Horse models, the 701 come up frequently in those lists.

Have seen a number of 701's, not rare in the "numbers produced" sense.

 

Yes, rare, Wheel Horse history. No Wheel Horses are manufactured today or in the future.

I believe the 701 was manufactured for only one year, 1961.

 

Nice Horse, 'course the Wheel Horses are and will be #1 in garden tractor history.

thinks i guess i will go ahead and restore it its in pretty rough shape right now but the motor runs and it drives

Yes it was only made in 1961. There are alot of things that were made just for that tractor like the foot rest, mower deck, and some other things so that makes it pretty cool. Definitely worth restoring! By the way, Welcome to RedSquare!

It also was the first 3 speed uni-drive transmission.  The 701 and the 551 have the first 2 piece casting...# 5007.
