CasualObserver 3,406 #4 Posted April 10, 2013 and Wheel Horse continued to make their products under the name REO by Wheel Horse for several years before assimilating it into just Wheel Horse sometime in the late 60s/early 70s. For a few of those years they made identical products under both names, even using the same model numbers.

sscotsman 132 #9 Posted April 13, 2013 The Band "REO Speedwagon" is in fact named after the truck called the "REO Speedwagon"! The REO Speedwagon (the truck) was an ancestor of the modern pickup truck, it was made for commercial use from 1915 through the 1950's. The band prounced their name with each letter individually, R-E-O speedwagon. While the truck (and the company) was called REO as one word, the same way "Rio De Janeiro" is pronounced. Wheel Horse bought what was left of the REO product line in 1964 (they no longer made vehicles by this time) Which included a REO snowblower, and some lawnmowers, which then got a REO-Wheelhorse label.
