JackC 616 #12 Posted March 20, 2013 You have a very nice 1978 D-160. The D-160 spanned 1975 to 1980. The BF-MS/3268 was used in 1978 only. The one lung Kohler was used in 1975 only.

Whmaverick 54 #15 Posted March 21, 2013 Terry, you said it wasn't all that pretty. Now that I see it, I think it looks gorgeous! Sure wouldn't take much rubbin and buffin to make it a jaw dropper. Do you wanna make a quick $100? LOL
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,040 #16 Posted March 21, 2013 Nice pick up. Word of caution is parts will be difficult for that motor. That is the older style Onan.

brandonozz 168 #19 Posted March 23, 2013 I like it Terry, can't wait to get my D going. Let me throw out a question to all you D experts. If you bring home a D like Terry, would you take the transaxle apart and install grade 8/9 bolts in the differential as preventative maintenance or just hope for the best? While it would take a weekend to do, the peace of mind seems worth it if you are planning on keeping the tractor.
