I need help on Transaxle

You could go to the Kohler website and click on the "Dealer Locator" link. But I don't think you will find the small shops. When I rebuilt my K321 the machine shop I used to do the machining ordered the parts and they were all Kohler OEM parts. I would try with the small shops, and/or there are some places on line that carries Kohler parts. There are some listed in the "Links" section under the main forum section here.

what is the easiest way of loacating one. I have several small motor and lawnmower repair shops nearby should I just start there?

Just a thought - if you do know of or have connections with a local mower or small engine shop that has a good reputation or that's treated you right in the past, it certainly wouldn't hurt to start with them. Even if they don't deal primarily with Kohler they may still be able to help you with parts and advice. In this tough economy, anything we can do to help out our "neighbors" is valuable (as long as they're willing to extend the same courtesy).

Just my two cents worth......

Poodle,

Glad you were able to fix the tranny problem. When I first got my 1963 753 I had the same problem. The shifter fix and a good flush and fill made a world of difference. Good luck with the engine rebuild.

Just north of Duff B)

Duff,

got that right. I am more and more "buying local".

Poodle

Glad to hear the great news. That is a beautiful machine and I am glad she's no show pony but a worker! B)
