leaky gas tank on the C160

Recommended Posts

rustyoldjunk

after i got the C160 back together,up and running i discovered the gas tank was leaking aroung the valve.i stopped in at a dealer a few days later and picked up a new rubber seal.well i put it in and it still leaked so on closer inspection it looks like the seam of the tank is barely starting to pull apart around the hole.so it looks like i need a tank.i may try putting a hose clamp on it for now to see if it works until i can get one because switching the tank out of the C100 back and fourth is a pain.anybody have a tank they want to sell? im gonna go check ebay....

I have used a soldiering iron before to weld the plastic back together.

I would weld on the inside.....not on the threaded side.

Seems to work pretty well.. Just make sure your gas tank is free from all gas.

I would use soap and water first.
