horsenut 1 #1 Posted February 27, 2011 My Dad bought this tractor NEW back in 74 really a great tractor I'd done a restore on it about 10 years ago and it was fine, had some renters move in the house and they neglected the tractor and even killed it...so I got em a simplicity. Since then my son moved back in the house and I'd want to do a second 'proper' restore. Well when the renters killed it I thought they'd run it out of oil and was prepared to do another kohler rebuild, Went over to the house found the starter was hangin up. So I took it apart cleaned it up and gave it a good ground and new battery ...now it spins just fine ...motor was not out of il and I get a very good sound with the plug out ...so I am getting good compression and no broke rod...Problem is NO SPARK so I'll start with rewiring it.
