Build yourself a Horse stand...

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking of building something to help in the shop. Today was the day...

I started by doodling a rough idea of what I wanted and took some measurements.

Here's a few pics along the way...

Here's how it turned out...

The tractor is ROCK SOLID stable an can now be EASILY moved around. It will fit long and short frame tractors! Should be REALLY useful!

I just put a floor jack under each end, roll it under.... hitch it up and let the whole thing down.

I used 1-1/4" (1/8" wall) square tube, but you could use just about anything.

Thats a great idea. I really like the idea of being to work on them and not bending over. Its a must for any Man Cave.. or She Cave for those who are female Wheel Horse addicts.

Very nice. Sooner or later someone is going to build a rotisserie. Or has someone already done it? :banghead:

Nice job Jon and nice welds!

I've actually been keeping my eyes out for a hydraulic or air powered scissor motorcycle lift for a while. I figure even if I have to fab a tabletop for it, it would be easy to drive up on an no manual lifting required :banghead:

I like it!! Genius!! I used my wood jetski stand with casters. Little bit big but it worked. If I had seen this, I would have built one. I really like how you connect to the attach-a-matic. :banghead:

Haven't seen one by a Wheel Horse guy yet, but have seen several done by JD and Cub guys.

It looks like you did good. Could we have a complete side view to see where your support is at the back.

Just had an idea! What about build an attach rack on an old air hydraulic bumper jack.

The type that lifted the whole front or rear of a car. Should be able to get one cheap as car don't have bumpers anymore.
