kpinnc 10,715 #2 Posted September 20, 2009 There were many different models over the years that used the 8 pinion- way too many to mention here. Most of the older C-series, most of the 400/500 series machines, and the newest (315-8, etc...) had 8 pinions. In the older machines, the 5093 tranny was an 8 pinion, and the 103907 trannies in the newer machines are just a couple of the numbers. You'll have to look up in the parts manual for your machine to be sure, as there are basically NO differences visually in these transmissions- just the old vs. new numbering system. An easy way to determine if an 8 speed with 1 and 1/8th axles has a 10 pinion diff is to block the rear wheels off the ground and give one wheel a turn. If the opposite wheel spins the SAME direction, it's a 10 pinion. If it spins the opposite direction, it's probably an 8 pinion. Kevin Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
