Crow Horse 8 #1 Posted July 30, 2009 The muffler pipe nipple on my B-80 is "rust welded" in the block. It appears that a previous owner had tried to remove it and in doing so, they managed to make the nipple oval at one end. What are my options? When i resolve the pipe nipple issue, I do want to cob up an exhaust system that doesn't spew exhaust in my face...... Anyone have somee pics of their home brew system? TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #2 Posted July 30, 2009 Cut the nipple off within 3/8" to 1/4" of the block and use a hacksaw blade to cut a slot in the bottom of the pipe. (parallel with the pipe - don't worry if it cuts into the threads a little) Once you have the slot cut, hit the end of the pipe you left when you cut it off (see why you leave that little bit sticking out? ) and collapse the remaining piece of the pipe until it breaks loose and comes out. Muffler style is entirely your call. Do you need it to be semi-quiet or doesn't it matter?
