Hi group, hope you've all been busy I'm just getting back to working on my 552. I was doing a resto last Spring, but it has now turned into a remod because I had to put a new engine on her last weekend. Unfortunately, the only engine that was affordable, had electric start, AND would fit into the old engine compartment, has the carb in the wrong configuration. So, in order for this project to come together, I have to figure out a way to extend my air cleaner box to the outside of the engine compartment. I need to make a 2" intake tube from the carburetor to the filter box. Anybody got any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this? The first pic should give you an idea about what I'm trying to do. Thanks, and I am posting the most current pic of the resto too. I'm also looking for a shifter boot, if anybody knows where I can find one.
