I could be wrong but it looks like it's held on with a roll pin :confusion-scratchheadblue:

Agreed. Likely not bent but welded that way many many moons ago. I've had one or two come through my workshop that way.

simple reweld then?

It is held on by a roll pin. I will disassemble but once reinstalled I don't think that is the end with the issue...right?

I'm not entirely sure which end is the "issue"... but adjusting either end would fix it... I think... :eusa-think:

true, but with a roll pin already set through the shaft the hole in the shaft sorta becomes the "fixed" point? I could be over or under thinking this :teasing-tease:

You are correct IIFF none of the parts are worn out.

Check the ends of the shaft where it would be riding in the bushings to make sure that it still measures at or close to stock size which I think is 3/4?

If you already have a warrant out main shaft there's no point in disassembly and rewelding.

That being the case it would be better to disassemble... then weld on a new piece.

On my 854 I drilled for a larger size roll pin and that completed my fix, an easier way would be to set it where you want it and have it welded.

I contacted the Delmont Apple Festival committee to see how I could show off my tractor....they responded promptly that they  enjoy having anyone participate. Now to have this horse done by Sept.1st!

Shouldn't be a problem to have it ready for the BIG SHOW in Arendtsville in June '23.    We expect to see it there Joe.

Look around the base of the knob to see if the there's a set screw.

Eric could be right... @ebinmaine ...but all of the ones I have had screw off... I just get a good ape grip on in, give it a counter-clockwise grunt... and off it comes... :eusa-think:

Carefully try some heavy leather wrapped around the ball and a pipe wrench.

That was my next option, just didn't want to ruin the knob but the heavy leather might be a winner.
