Plainfield 2022 Thresherman's Show

Was a great show as usual spite the rain on Saturday. Pulls got cancelled so that was no good. Nothin horendous but enough to keep the crowds supporting th club away. 

I got a few pics but not what I should have.... @Achto ?

I had four ther and Dan had four. Bad news was the tub got on the hauler under her own power but her pre show bath must have gotten moisture on the points which of course are under the flywheel. Worst part I had her running like a Swiss watch.

This was cool tho ... immaculate restoration and didn't get to talk with the owner about specifics.

 

Dan was busy showing one of our buddy's girls the finer points of running Big Betty. 

 

The guy with the half track also had these honorable mentions.

 

Same guy.... supposedly the paint on the cab and sleeper was 25k on the bandit special. No matter the guy has gotta have some serious coin in this rig. Wondered if he has the trailer? 

 

Ton of hit & miss stuff.

Yep old Pat in the hat can be hoot around the campfire too! 

 

Update on the tub....points spring shot & that little bit of rain got in the ignition switch and messed it up good.

Took it apart just for the halibut and one of the contacts hit the floor and rolled to no man's land. In case no one's  never seen the inside of one.

Leader was a manufacturer founded in 1939 in Auburn Ohio & later moved to Chargin Falls Ohio. They started building small farm tractors using Chevrolet engines but later switched to Hercules engines. They were equipped with a 3 speed transmission.  Early models had square centers in the front & rear rims, the later tractors like our '48 model D had round centers. Early models also had a stamped steel grill instead of the cast grill like ours has. Ours has a 3 point hitch and rear PTO but does not have a draw bar. Production numbers were not real high, never exceeding 4 digits in a single year.

It did have HY and the way it was set up was rather unique. Ran pretty good other than the battery.

Thanks @Achto.  This year I’ve gone to some different tractor shows than normal and have enjoyed seeing several “Other Brand” tractors besides the routine red, blue, green, orange and yellow.

One nice thing about our bigger shows @oliver2-44 is besides the usual run of the mill stuff ther are the oddballs too.
