Okay that's your tractor Lane Ranger wow! She is sure sharp:handgestures-thumbupright: I'd like the cleat tires on the back but I don't think I could do clean on the front as well I don't know maybe just me

the tri ribs are a good alternative also.  You can use 4.000 x 8. Or 3.50 x 8 tri ribs and they both will look good.  I put a pair of 3.50 on one of my RJs as they look better to scale smaller!

Great info LR! I love your lil tractor! I have some time to mull it all over, hell I just got her running this afternoon!  And video to prove it:D I didn't have an electrical problem, key switch etc. It was the fuel pump which was not letting fuel pass through. I took it off and opened her up to the sight of varnished, crusty fuel. My guess is as long as I was cranking it it produced enough vacuum to keep the engine running, make sense?

That was before I removed the fuel pump and cleaned it up. Let's see if I can upload the vid where I got it to run.

I know the rear tires are not original. They are Carlisle Turf Savers 23 x 8.50 -12

Yes most likely original.  These Goodyears were used on the earlier Wheel Horses.  I bought this new old stock  set this year.

Do you know what year they started printing "Wheel Horse" on the tires?

I'd guess that at one time that unit had he HY-1, -2, or -3 hydraulic accessory. Mine did and has the same holes.

With that installed, it was impossible to reach the key, so that got relocated to a small box added to the left side of the hoodstand. On this unit, and mine, the key is back in the operator-facing part of the hoodstand.

Don I bet you are correct. I keep forgetting about the hydraulics because of the tractor size! I believe there are a couple 854's here with that option. Thank you!

I'm almost positive that the guy I got mine from removed one just before offering the unit for sale. Ok with me as it was easily worth more by itself than I paid for the rest of the tractor and it was not something I wanted anyway. :)

Gotcha, Yes, I have seen just the 2 smaller holes side by side and then I have seen the same two holes with a larger hole in between.

Here is a plcture of a HY-2 unit I have that was mounted on a 702. The 854 would have used a HY-3, but the pump mount and starter key relocation are the same. The pivot shaft is not the same.
