All great guesses, but I knew no body would get it.  Guess it's time to let you all in on it's purpose.

It is something really simple yet it turned out great in my opinion. What is it?? It is a fixture to hold my mini maker light that I am using as a tail light.

Now you need another for the other side. You have it all unbalanced. going to be a pain to drive like that.

:confusion-confused: I have a set of 701 fenders in my possession that I'm working on. Think they might look good with some fins and some bullet tails??? Or maybe some frenched in tail lights???:D

I'm game as long as no sheet metal was harmed in the attaching of said acoutrements. Means no drilling holes in 60 year old metal!

Something that I was really happy to find and include on this build, the 53yr old :wh: tires that are in pretty good shape.

You did a great job! And those tires really do look great! They give your resto a great original look! :bow-blue:

@Achto excellent restoration! I absolutely agree that every detail matters on a restoration. If there's one part on a machine that's left untouched I always feel like it pulls the entire overhaul down a bit..

Not trying to kick the patina-loving guys and girls in the shin here though, just my :twocents-02cents: :hide:

WHX??

I asked him what was up with restoing & putting the deck engage hardware on although he has got a nice deck from @Vinylguy's 857 that would slide right under it.

I typically take off that kind of stuff on a new to me or a resto if I know I am gonna never mow or seriously work it.

He replied what better place to put it where it wouldn't get lost or get  bounced around in a parts bin!

Some day if I ever get a crack at cleaning out the magic parts shed and do just that.

That's an awesome addition! Do you have any dimensions on the holder, and a part number for the light?

These are the lights that I used.  The holder is made from a piece of 3/4" conduit. Didn't really measure anything, just eye balled it.
