Raposo 498 #1 Posted January 13, 2022 Hey guys, I bought this magnum 8 used from someone who said “it was on a running and driving tractor” I got it home and mounted it to my 607 build and I can’t get it started for the life of me. I have swapped the carb, fuel pump, pulled the head the the valves seem to be operating fine. It’s shooting exhaust out the carb in attempting to start. So much so that it closes the throttle butterfly here’s a video, what am I missing here, extremely frustrating IMG_4719.MOV
Pullstart 58,794 #2 Posted January 13, 2022 Did you use any wiring from the 607? Make sure you have the correct ignition switch ok, the video loaded…. Based on the puff, you’re getting SOME fuel and spark. Try covering the intake completely with your hand and pulling it over.

Did it the hand over the carb and it burbed and soaked my hand in fuel. There was a good amount of fuel, maybe it’s flooding the engine? The spark plug is wet. Maybe I’ll tighten the carb screws? Pullstart 58,794 #7 Posted January 13, 2022 Clean off the plug, leave the carb where it is, roll it over again. Did you verify good blue spark too?

Just checked and spark appears to be very intermittent. Wondering if that’s the issue.
