88 520-H brakes ruff in reverse

MY 520 brakes perfect when forward, but when u are going reverse, you really have to hit it, and it still rolls some, the parking brake works, is this just a brake band adjustment?? If so where is the band??

The brake band is located on the left side of the transmission just ahead of the left axle "tube". Since it is a band brake, it naturally functions better in one direction - which is forward in this case.

The brake band is adjustable and information on the procedure can be found in the manual available at Toro.

I'm not really sure why you actually need to use the brakes on a hydro tractor since moving the DCL in the opposite direction of travel is just as effective as braking. (early hydros didn't even have friction brakes)
