This is all we have so far in the Piedmont of NC… mostly sleet…

That disastrous storm is named Izzy, perhaps you can get disaster relief funds.  Oh, the humanity!  :scared-eek:

Seeming like all the hype is to just empty the shelves.   :dunno:

Don't get squat here with the lake anymore. My son only got 2" last week whilst the school he teaches at got a foot. Even Syracuse is way behind on snow.

:eusa-hand: C'mon, bring it.  :sad-bored:

Video sound does them no justice.

That 520 is a beastly machine.

Idle the two of them up and you can't even tell the Honda is running over the roar of that Onan. :handgestures-thumbsup:

They predicted ice, but we got around 2" of sleet, I'll take it  Power is still on here, not so lucky in SC and Florida has had tornadoes watch still in effect.

Windy here, I'am 40 miles North of Horse Newbie.

Supposed to start here in southern Maine about 2 or 3 am tomorrow. End around noon or a little later.

Looks like the last couple hours could be rain. I'd rather not have that.

First flakes were at 3:40PM, roads are turning white now in York County PA.

Yeah, I hate the slush and freeze.
supposed to start 10pm here (east upstate NY), so hopefully I’ll plow some nice powdery snow so the driveway is clear, then it can turn to slushy sleet after and that’s not too bad.

I walked the driveway, checked that the C-101s fuel pump clicked on when I turned on the ignition,  plugged in the trickle charger for my house generator’s battery….I’m ready.

I guess I should set an alarm for 4:30 or so so I can get started early if needed.

And I’ll fill the airpot with fresh coffee tonight to be ready in the morning as well.

Looked out the window a half hour ago to see it had started here in Snyder County.  Very fine snow coming down at a good clip and building up on the unsalted portions of the street.  They’re calling for 3” to 6” before it stops tomorrow with temps just above freezing.  I’m with @ebinmaineon this one, hoping it doesn’t turn to rain.

Edited by EB-80/8inPA
Now they’re calling for 0.1” of ice before this is through. Oh, goody.

Just make sure that happens and none of the rest matters.

Looks like coastal NJ is going to miss the snow and only get rain.  It was 15° last night and it's up to 36° right now and heading towards the high 40s.

Rain expected to start in about an hour and a half.   My fear is that it will turn to ice when it hits the cold surfaces but they're not saying anything about that.

They ARE saying that we might get some strong winds though.

In all seriousness, we also got sleet and rain. Upwards of 3 inches so far. Even after brine spraying and plowing, the roads are a skating rink. 50 miles south they got freezing rain.

I'd take 10 feet of snow over 1/4 inch of ice any day. Snow is nothing. Trees and power lines don't fall with 20 feet of snow.  Grandpaws 2WD pickup can drive in snow. Ice is from the devil...

The only disaster is a winter with no plow time.
