I've mowed using a 48 with a 10hp Kohler. It struggled, but does work. For "little issue with most lawns" with a 48 deck, I would suggest 14hp. The Carrol Steam engine looks like a Honda clone. Other guys have had pretty good success with these swaps. It will definitely spin your deck. CC is relevant, but these engines make the same horsepower, formula for which is torque multiplied by rpm. Even though these engines are built differently, they make the same power. After break-in, you may feel more power than you K341. You should have very good results. One more thing that might be helpful for you to think about with power output Kohler 341 compression ratio: 7.4:1 Carroll Stream 16 horse compression ratio: 8:2:1 Generally, higher compression ratio yields more power. They have complete kits for most Wheel Horses and many other tractors. Kit come with everything needed including wiring harness and exhaust. Rather expensive but cheaper than a new piece of crap tractor you get today. That 520H cut 4 acres of grass for 25 years with that Onan and a 60" deck, but now is semi retired. The 18 A is much better for accessories, including lights, etc... and will charge your battery fully. The 3 amp is... insufficient, in my humble opinion.
