New to the forum. My cousin purchased a piece of property and abandoned in a shed were 2 312-8's and the remains of a few round hood models.  My father had already checked the Kohlers for function. My cousin had no interest in the machines so my dad took the newest 312-8 and I took the other. He plans on finding a snowthrower for the front of his.  I got a 42"side discharge mower deck, a full long frame mount plow/dozer, a tine harrow and a garden plow. A battery later and It runs quite nicely.  I did snag one of the old round hoods as it was uniquely painted and cobbled together a temporary mount while I fabricate something nicer.
It's a nice tractor. I quite like it! I m sure I'll have questions, but for now just reading up. Here's where I'm at.

What a great find! Welcome to the forum.

The pictured tractor didn't start out as a round hood. I'm guessing maybe another 312 that has a round hood kinda, sorta attached to it. :)

Welcome!  312's are great and with the extra implements you have with it already is a fantastic find!  You'll probably like more and more each time you use it!

That was me. I just couldn't let that round hood with the custom nose art go to the scrapyard. I piled the whole lot in the back of a minivan with the rear seats removed. If I'd had more room, I'd have hauled home everything Wheel Horse.

I currently mow with a Deere L-120 and I just figured a free back up mower was smart. I have to say, I really, really like this tractor. I'm afraid this may be the start of a rabbit hole...

We all can relate to the rabbit hole concept,  however it is not a problem, quite to the contrary, it is a blessing'    I think.      :hide:
