On closer inspection the rims look to have been previously mounted, oh well me thinks they would look great white 🦈

Got the shaker plate all cleaned up today. I was ready to buy some new rubber mounts but they are in great shape!

If those rubber mounts ever wear out, most people go to solid mounts.  There’s a guy who spins aluminum ones, or you could make your own.

Hi guys,

l’m contemplating my front tire situation. I have these tri-ribs I could use or the other ribbed tires I jus mounted on stock rims. I also changed my mind on the rears and they will be wide AGs on 520 rims. I’m saving the narrow AG’s for a dual rear set up. So narrow tri’s or wide ribs? Btw if I go with the narrow tri’s I would also probably stay with silver rims. Skinny tri’s with fatty AG’s would have some serious cool factor.....

I like the wide front tires.  I would also recommend swapping out that steering wheel for a 15 inch wheel from a 417-8.  It makes a big difference in how the tractor steers.

I do agree with that...

But for the sake of practicality the wide tires would be more beneficial on soft/wet/smooshy ground.

I'll third the vote of the last 2 gents.

Ok so the worst thing about restoration of a tractor has to be painting rims! Been a bit but made a little progress tonight. Sneak peak at the new skins!

Hard to argue that for sure.

If I had a cost effective blast/powder coating place around that would be a consideration.

Those rims look excellent!

Yeah but the owner of those cards is gonna be a little irritated....

Seriously though... That's a great trick. Seen it here on this site a time or two in the past. My local Paint Department has used it with great success.

The air cleaner cover on my 16hp was badly damaged. The area around the mounting hole was broken out. The hole was 5/8” diameter. Welded a 1/8 “ thick  plug and then a fender washer. Should be plenty strong now. Is this a common problem with the larger 16hp filter covers?

The top piece of the hood stand was different on the 78 and 79 models with the old C-series hoods.

Yes but I believe the hoods are the same. Damn you scared me. I paid good money for that hood! Went out and measured and I seems the same as my 161 Automatic hood. Just need to find a hood ornament from an earlier model!

Somewhere around 64 or 65 up to 75 they had the ornaments.

You can also have one printed.

Did I mention I love adding the new decals!! Question where does the 15 AMP alternator decal go? Can’t find it on my original K301.
