There is not much to the hinge, should be able to modify or duplicate .   Or, How about moving the hinge pivot rod to the rear hole in the front hitch,  then drill a new hole behind it for the stop rod.

Maybe even weld up the holes on the (or better yet, another) front hitch, re drill where they need to be, may need to enlarge the angled cut on the front of the hitch slightly. 

I believe the muffler clearance is the limiting factor. That said, my old hood is going to be rejuvenated. Bunch of great ideas in my post in the tractors section. A combination of suggestions will be used and it will turn out perfect!! From adversity comes the best things!

On another happy note I bought a seat tonight. It would have been nice to find an original but I have one on my 300 hr. 520H. Truth is I cringe every time I sit on it. I’ve put more marine rubber uv protectant on it than is really necessary. Nope I don’t want to even think about cracking a seat on this. This is a working girl🤔😂! Tractor Supply and I love it!

My restoration has been bogged down but tonight I said $&@:; it and I cut out all the bad metal in my exhaust damaged hood. Tomorrow or Sunday it will get welded. Wish me luck!!!!

Hi guys,

 

been a while! I’m getting close to done on this build and thought you’d all like a progress update. Hood is repaired and done. How well it holds up is another question but I added header wrap to the inside panel. Also installed a lot of weights to the rear. Bolens inner and sears outer I believe. Still need to cut the carriage bolts to length and mount the front weights, and then she is done😁

top down picture of the start point on that lever rod,  added washers and lube , firms up and makes it work with solid ease .  also note steering column  flange bearing . also a great ground bolt extension point , for chassis grounding , pete

Probably not this year. I’m going full steam ahead on my 64 C10 project which is way behind schedule.

You want parts pics…..here you go, I had to cut the frame horns off because someone in the last 58 years butchered the bumper mounts. This has been an expensive experience…..these are the new ones from Washington state.

Not sure other than I thought wrapping the muffler might cause it to rust out faster but that may be a false assumption. I may still wrap it.

Finished. Got the front weights mounted and rear carriage bolts trimmed. She is a thing of beauty to my eye. Not horse wheel weights but they look super nice. And those rears stacked are at least 100lbs. Per side. I’m real happy with it!

Headlights that actually work. What a concept! Great job! OEM incandescent bulbs are about as bright as a candle. I never understood why they even used them!

I’m thinking that it maybe impossible to protect the hoods on the 101, 121, 141 and 161 steel hood tractors. Test tonight, I let it run at ma. Rpm for 10 min. This is with the exhaust wrapped, header wrap on the inside of the hood and 2000degree heat tape over it all. Still got three bubbles in my paint……I’m done, gonna use it and if it burns off oh well!
