Picture of the front wheel spindle. No wonder the tire kept falling off. Going to see if can be welded

One of our members remakes these spindles and sells on Ebay.  Top quality .

A true barn find. It was sitting in a barn for at least the past 18 years. The guy I bought it from only owned it for one day, he got it from the original owners family!

Thats funny. My story is similar. Kid I bought it from had it a week. He got it from the original owners estate. The kid lost his storage and sold it to me. He kept calling it a 57. I told him it was a 58 because of the 3 speed trans. He said the family said it was a 57. So I guess we were both kinda right.

How many miles does it take to get to the center of a spindle?

That little tractor has covered some ground

A lot of miles or no grease. Or both. Pictures of the trans. It was bone dry. Looks like it is in neutral still frozen solid. I love that little leather shifter boot. And no number on top of trans

Looks like the spindles on my Lawn Ranger. Both were like this. Old wheels had steel bushings instead of a bearing, and killed the spindles.

A-Z Tractor had a set he had just gotten in, but couldn't ID them as they are a little unique. Needless to say, I scoffed them up, and added a new set of bearing-wheels to the front to prevent this from happening again.

Fill the trans with diesel fuel and wait a week . Each day check to see if you have any play. The diesel fuel will loosen her up.
