Gas Cap for Round Hoods, 953, 1054...

With a little modification, I made a $5.02 gas cap from the local Parts Plus work with a gravity feed or fuel pump fed engine.  Here’s how:

radiator cap from a old twin john deeres is the same cap used on early horses you need to add a vent hole in the same place as originals

The one I got from Napa I think was listed under a late 50s dodge, I took one down there and matched one up, I think it was around 10 bucks so I got ripped off!

Is this a lower pressure vent spring unit?  703-1220 says it fits the 69 Chevy… what’s the difference?

The one I listed is slightly shorter/thinner. Same mounting. It's listed with anti-surge venting as opposed to just vented. Can find any pressure specs. I've used the 1020 cap more than once with no issues
