Thanks for all the help everyone! For those folks just getting into the wheelhorse hobby or folks who have been trying to find right part numbers. Here are the filters needed for a 1976 D 160 with a bf ms 2929 Onan motor. I bought the proper air filter engine oil filter, and transmission filter.

So is this filter just designed for hydraulic fluid? The 51410? Because i had lots of folks tell me i got the right one. and according to everything i looked up online this was also the number it transferred to. Just wanting to see why and if im wrong im wrong. I am a ok with being wrong. I can always go exchange it.

Also want to add I am using what the factory manual says 10w30 or 10w40 oil. And that is what is in it now is engine oil. When i first drove it it sounded good and the tranny was working as it should.

The 1521 has a bypass valve which you don't want. It will work but can be an issue if something happens down the road. I worked in auto parts for 10 years and have been a mechanic for 30. The information in parts catalogs, interchanges computers ect is only as good as the person who put the info in.Mistakes are more common then you think

Well you all must be correct on the transmission oil filter mine keeps leaking super slowly but its leaking! I will go today and pick up the wix 51410 and see if that cures it! Does it matter i am not running tranny fluid in it? I used what the book called for 10w30. I ask because the filter you all want me to use says hydraulic on it? atleast online anyways. Thanks and I will update if it cures my issue!
