„Freddie is Back“

after all fields are mowed, Freddie goes immediately to Hunt.

I think there is nothing more impressive to see them Hunt.

I can watch them hour‘s and hour‘s fly and hunt.

Estimated wingspan compared to my RC planes is about 1,4 to 1,5m.

There be two couples here in the closer Aeral.

but Freddy is the biggest of them.

His movement is more than mayestic.

LOVE to watch the birds....

Here on the mountain side there are thermals that the vultures, hawks and occasionally eagles use to gain altitude.

Somewhere nearby we have nesting pairs of Red Shouldered Hawks, Barred owls, Great Horned owls.

There's a river in the valley that eagles and ospreys live on.

Freddy is a Red Milan.

i don‘t know actual where he‘s Nest is, but it must be really close in our Forrest.

Think his Home is somwhere in the Direction to my Potatoe Field, because he is mostly arround in that Area.

After Spring each day when i drive early in the Morning to Work, he sits on one of three Streetbeacon,

mostly he sits on the same Beacon. Just if it‘s raining hard he don‘t like his Place.

If i paddes his Beacon with the car he don‘t flee, even once, where i stopped aside.

He just looks curious.

Ah forget,

they hunting Mice and young Rabbits,

once i see him Fighting and killing a Marten.

It was so impressive, i stopped and hold for a Minute to see that.

The fight was about 10m aside the Beacon on the Road.

That was About 2 Years ago, after seeing that fight i give him the name „Freddy“.

I have seen this raptor while working in Lausanne, Switzerland, but did not know it was a Red Milan or Red KIte.

They are a majestic bird.

The Red Tails have pretty much made it harder to small game hunt around here. There is times you won't see a rabbit for weeks.

One pretty cool observation, Pumpkin Run is across the street, one came down and picked a water snake.

We have a pretty big crane that hangs around the run too. Pumpkin Run is rich with life, lots of bait fish.

Biggest we have here are a pair of Kestrels. Usually nest in some trees at the far end of the bridleway. When they're flying around sometimes crows will case them. Quite entertaining watching that.

Sparrow Hawks are also around all year. They'll take the small birds from around the bird feeder, given the chance.

Couple of Carrion Crows keep making a nuisance of themselves. Big buggers they are as well. I keep threatening to give them some lead pills.
