What did you do today?

When I got home Trina was already outside blowing the leaves out of the garden out front.

We took a chainsaw out in the forest and limbed two trees and started cutting both of them up.

Ran out of gas.

Stopped on purpose so I don't beat myself up too much..

I'm feeling better and I don't want to push too hard.

I went back inside and sharpened that saw, filed the rakes, tightened the chain. Ready for use next time.

Trina is still outside getting the new garden ready for this year. Pulling and stacking rocks. Flattening high spots and filling in lows.

Girl ain't got any flippin 🛑 STOP button. 😂

I've learned to take a long break after each tank of gas. I rehydrate and do something that uses different muscles and I'm much happier later!

Exactly the plan.

On a weekend I'll do 2 tanks full.

When  I get stronger I'll try 3.

We burned a bunch of $4 gas yesterday moving from our Mo. winter quarters to our summer quarters in Mi.  Loaded the Cherokee on a U Haul trailer and towed it with the Ram.  Managed 13mpg on the trip.

Was a reasonable day today, so I took the dog for a walk out in the nearby state game area.  Did about a mile in the woods.  Saw a Blanding's turtle on the walk.  That is an endangered species.  Second one I've seen in this area.

Cleansed out the PO box here.  One of the items waiting there was a freshly rebuilt Kohler carb for the C195.  Hopefully, I'll get that installed in the near future.

Pah'tic'ler the zookeenes.

I grew up. Nope. I got larger than the size I was born at. ...

About an hour south of Keene NH. That's a college town so it's also a zoo.

That word really is a perfect descriptor.

I was mean and  used to eat them in rough seas on the submarine. The smell would add to the looks for the guys that got seasick and had to stand the barf bag watch. They ate the crackers.  I never got seasick!

WalMart (sometimes) or that jungle site.  Actually, they had them at Big Lots the one time I went in there.

Yep working overhead makes it a workout. I did the down stairs several years ago.  Also did my sons house so I have about 3000 sq/ft of experience.

I finished up a couple of wood projects I have been working on. The first Is a clock I made about 30 years ago. I gave it to my son. He managed to knock it off the wall, and the octagon frame broke. He attempted to fix it himself, sort-a kind-a. Then he managed to knock it off the wall again. The pieces and parts have been in a box for about 20 years. It originally had a solid brass, key wind German movement, with chimes. It did not survive the falls. I dug it out and put it back together the best I could, If you look close, you will see the frame is a little caddy-wompus, and now it has a battery movement, but it's good enough for the garage.20220416_131658.jpg.8254cb590d3d5df488f158f0247ef2ba.jpg

Also about 30 years ago, I bought an Aolean Duo Art Reproducing piano. It's like a player piano, but better. It was a beautiful piano, but it's long gone. With the piano came a cabinet that held the paper music rolls. The cabinet was not so beautiful. I was surprised it survived the trip home to be honest, but it did have some really nice leaded glass doors on it. I removed the doors, and pitched the rest. I decided to make a couple of barrister bookcases using the doors. I have never built a barristers bookcase before, so I decided to make a miniature one for practice. It's about 20" long, 8" high, and 8" deep. right now it just has plexiglass in the door, and it may just stay that way.20220416_131535.jpg.1809b3ae2a584c5b1dedfe6f95b5d79e.jpg20220416_131559.jpg.0346a90e5415a51cf14793db45f9e11d.jpg

I know this is not a wood working forum, so I will refrain from posting any more wood projects, but thought I would share these 2.

@Handy Don GREAT ADVICE! I kinda wish my Husqvarna 455 Rancher had a smaller tank :eusa-think:

Dropped a couple looooong ones and cut em up this weekend. Hauled it all up by the road for a friend to pick up. Then did a nice brush and crap burn. Sure enough the wind picked up after I had a nice blaze going, so the wife manned the “firehose” just in case 👨‍🚒

Lets see: you drive on the wrong side of the road and buy you "petrol" in litres. I mow the grass on the lawn. I mowed greens in HS so the Counrty Club "pros" could 4 putt and call it good. :) I have fake chickens as yard art and my hedges are "The Bushes from Hell!
