@pullstart  good for you , use it in your most problem area , and make things work easier , like i said , bearings love this stuff , all my linkages and swing points work seamlessly. mower deck bearings , pto bearings , plow steering quadrant area , swings like power steering . i buy bearings with wide rubber side shields , so its easy to pop them off and do a grease swap with lucas , bearings love it , hope you try it , pete

I’m not a big fan of swans.  Growing up on the lake, the males saw PWCs of all types as other males intruding on their lake.  I’ve had plenty of rides with a 55mph flying bird winging me on both sides.  They are protected, so we just had to get to shore and tuck and roll into the beach more times than I care to admit.  We ended up on year obtaining a paper it from the DNR to capture it.  It was in our garage in a special DNR cage for the night and they came to pick it up in the morning.

I worked on the tiller carb this afternoon.  It is running better now, but it is still surging.  At least it will run with no choke now.  Ran it under load long enough that I will get a good read on the plug.  It won't idle either.  

 

Seems to run steadly when I hold the throttle linkage.  Might as well research how to set a governor on a B&S Intek engine.  Not sure what I will find, as the governor linkage looks good and operates freely.  An oil change won't hurt, either.

You're clearly headed the right direction. 

Did you change the fuel line too?

Our splitter runs a similar (if not same) engine. 

I did have to soak my carb for a few days to get into the tiny ports effectively. 

 

If you're not in possession of a soak kit I've found dedicating 2 to 3 full cans of brake clean to spray in every orifice every direction to be a decent alternative.

For those following along on the GT 14 dash project, while the 3d models are done, I'm still working on lining out the printer. Now I'm into reviewing and customizing my own firmware version for the large printer..line after line of C++ code, then test, then tweak, and test again. This ONE file has ONLY  2889 lines of code. Scary when it starts to make sense, kinda like interpreting the Matrix.

Been doing a lot of litter picking lately, keeping the area tidy.

I broke a pair of litter tongs so decided to have a bash at making one.

Its turned into a bit of an epic build to be honest.

Depends on your outlook of chilly. I prefer cooler weather so fall is my favorite time of year. 

Average daily highs and lows for Fryeburg Maine (closest weather reporting airport) are about 50 and 30 for November 13th. 

Last year we went to the Great North Woods the first weekend of November. It didn't go above freezing for 3 days. The very next weekend it was nearly 70.

Quite a productive day. 

We took the 5 x 8 utility trailer loaded with all manner of recycling, refuse, metal, and a fair pile of broken shingles (from the roof installation last April and May) to the transfer station. 

On the way back we stopped and picked up a few tools and some pegboard along with a trailer load of firewood from the widow downstreet we've been helping out. 

Got back and unloaded that. 

 

The BBT and her constant energy kept going and her mom came over to help. They moved a dozen or so 5 to 6 cubic foot loads of gravel from the 14 yard pile in the front down to the back of the house. 

 

We're filling in some of the holes and rough spots so we'll able to use that area for walking around and drive the tractors on it. 

I'll get video of that project sometime. It's part of the clearing project we've been working on for a good 2 years now. 

 

Ater all that we took about 3-1/2 hours to do a fairly decent detail cleaning on the Kia. 

I've been mulling over trading it in. We'll see what a couple dealers are willing to offer and go from there. 

 

Now it's time to set a spell and enjoy a nice adult beverage.

Prices are crazy in my area, maybe your's will be better.

They're up a little but not as much as other areas. 

 

Living in the sticks like we do and having a long commute takes its toll on vehicles. 

I average 25K miles a year. 

Been buying used with fair miles for a long time. 

They are worn right out by the time I get another in a few years. 

 

This time I'll get new or near new and it should be in better condition and more saleable at trade-in time.

My last job was at a Chevy dealership and the owner has 8 locations including a Kia dealership. Most of the money he makes is in repairs and parts, not selling the vehicles. He found out in his research that Kia's don't break down as much so he put a carwash and quicklube in that location to bring revenue up.

I can believe that. I'll be looking for a small hatch back. Toyota, Hyundai, or Kia.
