Did you use gloss or satin black on the hood?  Clear coat?

I didn't do anything with the hood yet Greg.  That's the way I got it from the PO.  The RED is still original, but the black was gone over with what appears to be a satin.  It needs re-done.

It also needs sheet metal repair, mostly this seam is completely un-done.  All the spot welds are broken.  Not sure how I'm going to repair it yet, but that may be in the Spring.

In addition to the hood, the upper dash pod, and footrests are still original paint.  The two lower side panels and the fender are repainted by me, no clear coat (yet).

I need to 'shake down' what the rattle in the engine is before going any further...

I used gloss on my Black Hoods w/clear coat. That was before I knew it was suppose to be satin.  Live and learn.

I think I would like the gloss look!  I'll debate it with myself when the time comes... I don't know who will win, Dr. Jekyll, or Mr. Hyde !

The 175 and 125 side by side. Gonna pretend it's front end Friday. Both gloss black with clear coat. The 125 has Chinese Red Lacquer. The 175, Regal Red. They both could have used more prep work, but I've said many times, I am not a body and fender man, just don't have the patience for it I guess. 1831013983_20211204_162808(2).jpg.8e801bb4cc2e9213f899b8db46ed2282.jpg297777467_20211204_163549(2).jpg.2dead6a93378ca706284c5a2ba817aec.jpg

Originally it was a Briggs 16 twin. It was already repowered with the Mag 10 when I saw it for sale on Craigslist in NY and just had to have it!
