My 1968 Commando-8.

I have been trying to buy a commando-8 for a couple of months, but the owner keeps backing out right before we have deal.

They are light and small machines that get pretty much everything done! :handgestures-thumbupright: Bravo! Yours looks very nice!

@JCM

You definitely need a trusted steed when you're on the trails in Maine. :scared-eek:

That's only 45 minutes from where my camps were. Seen some big ones but never that big. Is that pic real?

I know this model is on many a bucket lists… but not THIS model…. Another neglected beat up and loose everything.  The 16 hp thumper was still worth the price of admission!

That's exactly what I am looking for. A hydro, no motor, don't need tires and wheels, most everything else there. HP is not important. I want a roller. Not to build, but to do some experimenting on. Lots of things I want to try, but I am not going to sacrifice one of mine. When I'm done experimenting, I can rebuild it then. I have motors, wheels, tires, and a few other gadgets I wanna try. Wish you were closer. Actually, I haven't been anywhere for a while.....:eusa-think:

There isn’t a ton left on this that is of any quality.  Two of my hydro units ran and drove but one seemed to have a weak hydro.  I’m sending both of those transmissions with a buddy and another hydro tractor next weekend… but if I come across anything again I’ll keep you in mind :handgestures-thumbupright:

I've seen quite a few moose over the years.

Two were genuine gargantuan.... around that size.

From Maine.gov.

"The largest bull ever harvested in Maine had a dressed weight of 1,330 pounds and means it would have weighed approximately 1,767 pounds! The total length of a moose is about 9 feet ..."

If that dirt road is 8 ft wide then that moose could be in scale.

I've seen one that size crossing I-95 on our way to Portland, ducking his antlers under each toll station as he was crossing the road.

Toll taker said "meh, happens everyday."

This one, a 75 Automatic,  and Cinnamon Horse, a 74 8 speed.

Man, if I had all the parts to that I would fix it up----no matter how loose it can be fixed. Great find there.
