That's a complicated dashboard. Where are all the idiot lights, multitude of switches, radio/cd, sat nav etc. etc.?? :D  All those things that are so essential these days.

Distracted driving was discouraged back then.

The fender thing fell through. He had some that looked good but didn't measure out the same. So I guess it's time to get out the body hammers and see what kind of damage can be done.

I wonder how many would know what the levers above the horn button and to the right of the gas pedal are for.

Spark advance, hand throttle and starter.

Edit: I'm assuming it has two levers on the steering wheel and I just can't see one. Could be wrong.

Ok the lever on the steering wheel is hooked to a multi-position switch on the base of the steering column.

Take it from there.

I'd have to guess headlight switch then.

My grandpa Frank made up this animal.  Called it the Keybird.  “Keybird fly backwards.  Don’t care where he’s going.  Knows for damn sure where he’s been.”

Rest in peace, Frank John “Keybird” Platte.

I’ve been told I have an old soul... or I was born 100 years too late.  Jonah is a fine example of an old soul.  When I grow up, I hope I’ll know as much about old stuff as he does!

My first car was a 1930 Dodge 6   four door w/ 19" wooden spoke wheels, hydraulic brakes, flat head six and three on the floor.

I paid $100 for it in 1957 when I was 13 years.     It had 37K on the working odometer.      The exterior was good with the original paint, but I did reupholster the entire interior and added a heater and a radio.

The picture is from July 4, 1961.      One of my first dates with Mrs.K.

The 1930 Dodge came with a large work bench, curious to know what you named your first born.:romance-grouphug:

I have been told that I was born 100 years too late more than once... I don't claim to know a lot, and I'll certainly never know nearly as much as those who lived back then.

Sorry BC, my first was born a few years later and named Mark, not Dodge.

Probably should have named him  Galaxie.

Won't let me download any more photos. This is what it's telling me.

I guess I'm done putting photos on here.

If you become a supporter the photo limit will be lifted. What you have posted should be enough to get started.

Becoming a supporter will solve that. There's a cap for non-premium members because server space cost $$$
