Perhaps you're going about this the wrong way Norman. What I'm thinking here is that you need to measure the square footage of the grass and install as many sheds on said grass as you can. When done, point out that you are saving HER all kinds of time mowing...

It's me that does the mowing and the only grass left as it is, is right in front of the house. I'm not blessed with the size of property you lads have. 1

No timeline on the electric. No insulation at this point other than the R-9 that's in there. Finishing will be a "work in progress". Shelter for the herd was primary. Everything else can wait.

WHX?? 46,773 #95 Posted March 18, 2020 Better ?... how long before you can let horses pee 80/90 or hy fluid on it?!?! Tip here Bob.... lay pieces of cardboard under the leakers and the "someday" projects that get shoved in the back. Cardboard soaks up oil well. If they leak real bad lay some visqueen under the cardboard.

Rained hard last night. Overhead door seals tight. I have installed perimeter drainage around the base of the building so water can't come in from below.

If I got a leaker, I put a tray lined with paper towels under the leak area. Easy to remove, clean, and replace. 6

Bob, can you give us some details on how you did this? I'm curious because I'm hoping to have a shed installed to protect my motorcycle this year, and drainage will be an issue. Also because one of your earliest photos in this thread showed a good bit of standing water in that area after last summer's rains.

Also because one of your earliest photos in this thread showed a good bit of standing water in that area after last summer's rains. Sure. I wish I had taken more pictures of the whole process, but here is what I have. I dug a trench on 3 sides of the building and put in about 2" of #57 stone. Then I laid 4" perforated corrugated plastic pipe. In the picture below, the blue line indicates the location of the pipe. It's about 2" out from the perimeter of the skirt board, and 2" below the gravel. The top of the concrete will be 4-5" above the gravel shown on the outside, which means the drain pipe will be below the level of the bottom of the concrete floor. The yellow arrow indicates the high point of the pipe on the high side of the building. Water will drain to the right or left from this point. This was also done so that when rain gutters are installed, all the rain will run to the left, and the downspout will attach to the pipe at the back corner. Rain water will exit here on the lowest corner. And here on the front. The pipe goes under the apron. The gravel will be covered with drainage cloth, then back filled with topsoil. Hope this helps.
