Building A New Pole Shed For The Horses

Recommended Posts

Maybe I missed it, but did they say it'd only take 2 days to assemble the building and a 3rd to pour concrete?  Seems like that's the pace they're on.  Either way, it's great progress.

They started to put the siding on and realized that they had framed for double hung windows instead of side-sliding, so they are now correcting that. Assuming they get that finished before the rain gets here or it gets too dark to work safely, they should be done most of it today. I did not see an overhead door in the delivered materials, so obviously that won't be done today. I don't know if same crew comes back to do concrete, but that should only be a day as well.

They finished up as the darkness came. Had to work by the lights on the skid steer. More pictures in the morning.

So, I stated incorrectly that the team that was being sent to erect my building would be Amish. I was expecting straw hats and beards. Boy, was I wrong. Three young men in their 20's with baseball caps and a work ethic that you don't see much these days. They started at around 7:00 a.m., and did not take a break until the job was completed. And they had great power tools. Makita & Stihl. My choice as well.

I wondered about that, thanks for clarifying, and for saving me a trip back to the beginning of this thread. :)

That's a nice looking building Bob, looks like it fits right in like it belongs there. :handgestures-thumbupright:

WHX??

Yes very nice Bob. :handgestures-thumbupright: One of the best things about this type of shed is maintenance is very little to none. Really like your steel & trim color selection.

Bob, under the concrete to? Just asking is all as it helps keep moisture down. I added a vapor barrier under my slab when I built my home. Its turning out really nice. You must feel like a kid on Christmas, your man cave.

Saturday update. Concrete has been pushed back to Tuesday. No reason given other than scheduling problems. Rain is in the forecast though, so that may change agan. I wouldn't think that Covid-19 has anything to do with it, but you never know. If they have to put toilet paper into the concrete mix, that might be a problem. :angry-cussingblack:

Yes the Covid panic . . . hopefully good to go Tuesday if they haven't shut everything down :handgestures-thumbdown:
