9.5 this morning in nj.  can't complain about this winter so far, I think it's supposed to be in the 50's next week again.  the sun has begun to change angles and I saw some crocuses blooming already in the yard.   3 weeks the time changes too

Brrr it's 36 here in Central Texas and that's cold enough for me!  Should hit the mid-60's this afternoon. forecasting 70's Saturday and Sunday.

@ebinmaine

 @1995 520H+96+97 I had a 1996 Ford truck like yours in my younger day.  I I remember right, your grill looks like yours is a 65.

Both of ya'll keep that minus stuff up there in Maine.  Ok I'll admit it, I'm a little OK with cold dry weather, but we usually get cold wet weather and it chills me to the bone..

I had 6 degrees yesterday morning, probably the coldest all winter, but we have had a few good snowfalls where I could get out and play.  All in all though, a very open winter, one for the books.  I don't ever remember a winter as open and mild as this one has been.  I don't think there has even been that much frost in the ground, seems like every time I go out to plow I end up scalping more sod.

I had the" pleasure" of starting up a new hydro turbine at  Chaudiere Falls, Ottawa  during the month of Feb.  in the '70s.

We had one heat wave that month when it warmed up to -10F.

We had to drill a manhole thru the 10" thick ice and lower  divers  thru the hole with a crane.  They used a hammer and bar to remove the stop logs that were used to dewater the turbine during installation.   Sure wish I had pictures of that adventure.

After a few chores outside, a Winter Trail Ride and pulling the SD card from the trail cam I could not get that image of you @Ed Kennell  in front of your stove yesterday out of my mind so I decided to join you today. It is so quiet sitting here that all I can hear is Bacon frying, thank you tinnitus.

My new driveway is now in my yard. More seat time in the spring.:banana-jumprope:

Spring is back...54F.    If you look to the left of the thermometer, you can see my neighbor plowing.

It is very interesting Norm.   I was just now watching and noting the position of the four horses.

The two outside horses switch from walking on sod to walking on the plowed  ground.

The inside pair switch from walking in the furrow to walking on the sod.

Looks like two share plough with two different size wheels.

1st photo. Big wheel on the land. Small on the turned earth.

Returning. Big wheel in bottom of furrow. Small on land to use second share.

Simples! I think?

That plowing setup might give the Wisconsin Boys a run for their money on plow day.   :eusa-think:
