combatmp29r 27 #12 Posted January 31, 2008 OK i'm a little late her, but welcome to red square. Anyone pondering buying a vertical shaft is ok in my book Looks like a solid 70 Commando 8 (V8).
combatmp29r 27 #13 Posted January 31, 2008 Hmmm should read all of it before I reply, if you plan to pull the V8 even stock now and then find yourself a spare transaxle for it. Pulling with them cuts down the ring gear in the trans. I have a couple here that look like you machined them in a mill there's only about .015 of the teeth left all the way around. Hmm...sounds like a project for my new friends at Friskney Gear?...HD vertical shaft transmission gears? Modracer welcome to the site & nice tractors An 855 was my 1st Wheel Horse. That pic of the orange racer hanging it out on the corner is great too! :P
combatmp29r 27 #15 Posted January 31, 2008 Stephen I thought the same thing. I may send you a spare set of ring and pinion to get a price from them. No hurry on getting them back either I only have 7 sets of spares not counting full trans axles Ok I may hoard vert parts alittle :D
