While the idea is fresh in your mind, I'd go ahead and build it! Would definitely be a cool machine when you got done.

Wheel Horse projects are always fresh on my mind... it’s just accomplishing other things in life too that I struggle with!  :ROTF:

I’m not sure if this free Suburban came home before or after the unveiling of Radpferd, but I’ve had my eye on these things all summer in my driveway!  The tool box needs narrowing, or a custom box all together, but I like the fenders.  They might get trimmed a little though...  the seat spring, I guess it was built for a downward angled base, because it isn’t a full 180 degree bend.  I guess I’ll have to squish/spring it in a press a bit to my custom liking!

@Achto was there a Wheatland row crop?  I found my old 15” buggy fronts... oh how slick they would be on a high clearance front axle!

Oh boy... what am I doing?  Ain’t that thing purty!  It’s like the mix between a gasser hot rod and a working tractor.  It’s amazing.

plus I have the whole VW front end to pick apart.

It has been done, but that shouldn't stop you from putting your spin on it.

There was never a Wheatland row crop or high crop.

Wheatland's were short stout tractors that were built for tillage only. They usually didn't have adjustable front ends or even a PTO.

Row crops were built to be more of an all purpose tractor.

High crops were built to for cultivating, spraying and weed burning. Weed burning was not real common but yes farmers would basically hang torches from the tractor and drive down the rows burning the weeds off in between the crop plants. This was back when LP was super cheap.

With those buggy rims that you have, "I smell yet another custom project" :handgestures-thumbupright:

I’d love to see more of that one!  I can’t tell if the frame was moved up on the transmission, or if something else in the rear is going on?

I didn't take any detailed pictures :hide: but to the best of my recollection there was a truss of sorts built to the transaxle with what appeared to be chain drives going down to both rear wheels. It was very well done.

Well it might not matter so much, Pile O Parts won’t be getting the high roller treatment.  Rylee thinks Filly needs it.  She saw that 450 High Crop pic and it was all over with.

  she’s got a good eye.

I took these at the big show a few years ago when customs were featured.

Which year was that Jason?  Maybe there are some pictures of the rear end in the gallery or a video?
