Considering the fact that you don't see many of these. I would say if you find one while looking, BUY IT:D

Nothing to them, really. I had an R6, the big one. Model A Ford trans and differential. Think it was the same clutch too, if not it might have been a Rockford.

Such an obsolete and odd machine.. just look out for any breaks or old repairs. Parts are pretty much nonexistent so yu better know a fabricator should anything serious be wrong. If the driveline has issues, anything Model A should fix it up. Nothing to them anyway.

My friend Rodney Burger (lawnman_56) has a Shaw-Du-Al tractor .   He picked it up earlier this year in Florida.

As the book by Michael Martino (Straight from the Horse's Mouth" notes , Harold,  Elmer Pond's brother worked at Shaw Manufacturing in Galesburg, Kansas..

Harold later started the Speedex Company in Ohio,

Hey Tom, Did you end up pursuing the Shaw?

Personally, I think Shaw tractors have so much historical significance and are really neat, unique tractors! I've had quite a few of them over the past few years and would be happy to help out if still needed.
