JimmyJam 516 #1 Posted October 13, 2019 Here in south coast Massachusetts we recently been dealing with a Nor’easter storm with days of heavy rains and 40mph wind gusts. So on Saturday morning at 3am we heard a loud crash. At day break we saw that our neighbor’s ginormous maple tree tumbled down! Down onto our prized WH tractors. 1960 Suburban 400 (Ellenor1) and a 1976 B-80 (Mighty Mike). Oh no!!’!!!!! NO!!!!!!! We we’re getting ready to trailer those tractors down to Stevebo’s Meet and Greet! so we snapped pictures, called insurance company and headed to Stevebo’s somewhat later than we anticipated. Had an awesome time at Stevebo’s Meet and Greet!!!!! Thanks Steve!
JimmyJam 516 #2 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) Update: So today we started early morning to start accessing damage and have some plan of overwhelmingly attack on what we should do. Suddenly, all the neighborhood people show up with loppers and chainsaws. I asked why? ”Because we live on a dirt road that the town rarely plows in the winter. You with that little red tractor single handily plow snow throughout the winter on our road and our driveways “. Wow!!! Brought tears to my eyes! After several hours of intense chopping, the tractors were now exposed. Oh my frocking God! The WH gods were on my side!!!!! That ginormous tree trunk strategically landed perfectly between the tractors. No tractors were harmed nor scratched!!!! You can’t make this stuff up!!! Wow! Oh wow!!!! JimmyJam 516 #4 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) “Ellenor1” is pictured on the left with a front sickle bar mower. “Mighty Mike” is on the right. Mighty Mike is my winter plow tractor that plows our driveway, the complete gravel road, and all the neighbor’s driveways; one being an ER nurse that totally needs to get out!!! Here’s pictures of Mighty Mike last winter season: Edited October 15, 2019 by JimmyJam 5 3 1
JimmyJam 516 #5 Posted October 13, 2019 That gray box on rear of Mighty Mike is a homemade salting box. Several modifications have been made since including a rugged rear swivel wheel that distributes sand weight off rear hitch and allows rear hatch door to shake sand/salt while driving or remove top to be shoveled out if stuck.

Someone was definitely looking out for you and your horses! Can't be a coincidence how it fell. My heart sank when I saw the first picture, fearing the worst. Extremely glad that they were unharmed!

JimmyJam 516 #18 Posted October 15, 2019 (edited) So here’s another perspective photo on Saturday morning on my neighbor’s property. The red, white, blue post is our property line. Our house is the weathered cedar siding on the right. We live on a lake and most of homes are really converted year round cottages with a distance between homes maybe only 5’ (as visible from the previous pictures of Mighty Mike in our two car only driveway). This perspective shows you the intensity on how remarkable that these two tractors and our home was scaved from total destruction during a horrific storm! Stephen Santospago 8 #23 Posted October 17, 2019 Mighty Mike maybe mighty but I don't think he would have survived that tree. Thank goodness he wasn't in the way.

That’s how close the tree was to Mighty Mike. When this picture was taken we had removed the Suburban from the other side of the tree trunk in the event that the tree rolled. 1
