Picked up another little pony... Work Horse 832

Neat looking little mower! I've also wondered what the point of the Work Horse name was. I can see why this is of lower quality of a typical WH, because it was designed to be a cheap mower rather than a garden tractor.

It does look extremely similar to a "quality craft" mower that my dad has.

Thanks Garry, those will come in handy. Right now it seems to run pretty good. Not sure what I want to do with it. I live in the city and have no need for a riding mower of any size but here I am with another one. Waiting for help to get it out of the back of my truck so I can go over it. I am finishing up my cancer treatment, 33 rounds of radiation to the head and neck takes its toll on you. Funny how there isnt any photos or much information on these. If it wasnt for everyone here I wouldnt find any Thank You Red Square

Went through it.... runs great mows real nice. Washed it off real good and even waxed it. Detailed the engine. Now I am not sure if I want to pull the deck off and give it to my nephew to drive around in or sell it. I love to give it to my nephew but things tend to disappear once they go over to his house. What do you guys think these little things are worth?

I can't answer for you what it would be worth but I would absolutely not give something like that to any family that makes things disappear. Just too rare of a bird.

Actually, I'm kind of old school.... I would probably not give ANYTHING to a family that makes things disappear....

I'm with Craig. Keep it and make it your own.

I hope I'm not sounding like a jerk but I just get a little irritated when I give somebody something and all of a sudden it isn't theirs anymore. That wasn't why I gave them whatever it was....

True enough with most anything I suppose.

We haven't built enough tractors to start giving them away yet.

Everybody starts somewhere.

We hardly knew anything at all a few years ago.

We've now fully restored 2 Tractors and mechanically restored several others.

Give it a shot....

He used an 8 inch rim on the rear. I would lean towards keeping the 6's that are on there now. When you wanna mow you need to drop down low.

I have never seen a RER WorkHorse.
On the subject of "It looks cheaper then a normal WH". That gets me. Because that is identical in every aspect to my WH A-81. 8hp 32" 2 blade vacuum deck.

No mention of it in any of my WorkHorse catalogs.

As For the WorkHorse name.

In general they were in essence a WH with slight styling changes or other oddities. I own a GT-1848 which is kind of a mutt 400/500 series to my understanding.

They were built for sales at retail shops, etc. Places that weren't WH dealers.

I seem to recall reading something about Lowes. Its been a while. The name didn't stay around too awful long. It also came and went a few times decades earlier.

That’s a pretty slick looking machine @D_Mac!  I vote for bigger wheels and AGs too, you already said you’ve got too many mowers!  :handgestures-thumbupright:
