They used a Copper color back in the 60's' That was their standard color then. Kohler standard color back then was Blue. I had a blue 91 Kohler until I painted it red.

depending the application, i bet the twin kohlers in skidsteers had different colours.

This K582 has a dark yellow/gold base (Cat Equipment?) With dark blue over it.

They painted larger orders any color the buyer wanted. If you bought one from a local dealer they were the standard color.

HeyEB.  While that monster Kohler is pulled apart, any detail to carb part number... or anything else for that matter?  My big twin is LP / missing stuff.  I’ve only heard it run on brake clean or whatnot.  I’d love to get a gas jet for it!

I'd be more than happy to get whatever I can.

When we get all the sheet metal off of it I'll take a couple pictures ... You have a stare at your own engine and tell me if there's something particular that you need.

Well, governor linkage, throttle cable hook up, and everything else from the intake on up.  The “carb” I have is essentially blocked off and plugged everywhere but the top.  The LP stuff sits on top.  It was a rather crude conversion, but the LP stuff isn’t complete either and/or broken, so I believe I’d be best off converting it to something easy like gasoline, then adjust the magneto timing as needed.

Now we're headed the right way...

Mechanical oil pressure gauge line.

I went with copper instead of plastic/nylon because of the look I'm after.
