520xi mowing at camp

Recommended Posts

Just a couple pics to show our lawn at camp.(about 3.5 acres to mow)

The Wheel Horse 520XI did great as usual (568 hours) while the JD 575x sputtered again mid mow, but smoothed out (2780 hours)

My brothers and my nephew destroyed the Toro's deck a few years ago... We replaced the shell and new spindles/ deck wheels / blades.  Man does it cut nice! It is a 48".

Nice to have one of each color to alternate mowings with. You have done good with that many hours on the JD. What are your thoughts comparing the two?

That's a VERY hard question to answer, especially here on Red Square...

While I LOVE my personal 97 416H and the Wheel Horse / Toro brand, I have 1/2 acres to mow with my 416H, the 4wd X575 is an overall better machine than our (my bros and my camp 520XI) or My 416H.

The X575 has power steering, which is nice. I think a better comparison would be a 522xi w/ Power steering and larger motor.

It's a bit Apple's and Oranges though, the JD was twice as expensive as the 520XI Wheel Horse when new.

If the Wheel Horse brand was around today, they would be an even better machine than they ever were.
