So I picked this up today. From what I can tell it’s a 1980 C-145 01-14KS01. Tractor and deck for buck and a half. Needs fuel pump. Deck is solid which is what I really wanted. What ya guys think?

A solid and quiet deck is worth what ya paid, so you did good. The tractor is a bonus!

You don’t see many Black Hoods with a Sundstrand hydro. They were only produced in the beginning of the 1980 lineup. Partway thru the 1980 production WH changed over to the Eaton Hydro.

What’s tougher? Sunstrand or Eaton?

My c145 has the sunstrand. Seems like a great trans. Never piloted one w an Eaton though

agree with sparky on the condition of the deck, first thing i would do to it , scrape down the underside and give it an oil bath to kill off grunge and save the metal. tractor looks good , i think with a steady amount of labor you can uncover and preserve a solid piece. for a buck and a half , you did real well. pete

I’ve always liked the look of them also. Now I can say I own one.

Looks like the lift arms are upside down on the deck and someone removed the deflector shields on the underside but that can be fabricated easily enough I think. But otherwise a solid 42” deck

I’m thinking it didn’t cut so well with the blades on upside down!

My C145 has an Eaton. No complaints & it has a decent road gear.

I didn’t even notice that at first! 😂 I’m going to take it all apart and freshen everything up

Looks good to me.I've got a C-145 in one of my buildings waiting for me to work on it.Last owner had a hydraulic leak on the control valve and he couldn't figure how to get it off,so he cut the hydraulic hoses.Real Knucklehead.Have fun with your new toy.

@Mikey the Monkey I got it running today. Pulled carb apart and cleaned it up. Float was stuck. Runs great. Don’t think fuel pump is working. I hook up an electric pump for testing purposes.

Definitely got yourself a decent deal at that price! If you need the correct fender pan, I have one over here in CT :handgestures-thumbup:
