RJ Hamner 981 #1 Posted June 11, 2019 Rebuilding a 69 Raider 12 I down to rebuilding the engine This one and my "donor" both have magnitos Would it be possible to swap out the magnito for a stator with the correct recifier and use the current flywheel?? pfrederi 17,040 #2 Posted June 12, 2019 (edited) I think so. The magnets in the flywheel do not change. The stator would have to be changed. I believe it because i was messing around with a breakerless system awhile back and the flywheel part number for breakerless and battery were the same.... EDIT thinking some you would not have to change the stator. It would still have the charge portion (assuming this wan't a pull start engine) Edited June 12, 2019 by pfrederi
Kenneth R Cluley 464 #3 Posted June 12, 2019 I modified same tractor over a year ago, didn't change stator. It has two separate coils, one for ignition , and one for charging.
