"Manic-Mechanic"

Recently picked up a near complete 61 db and although it was repowered, began the trouble-shooting process and replacement parts search. Many thanks to Jabelman for technical assistance and providing a key element to fitting this engine correctly. See the main obstacle is carburetor base. Shame, the prior owner replaced the original engine and didn't keep the sheet metal, not the hood bracket, or even the carb/offset! Just tossed all So here's a few pictures of the progress made. The old recoil & shroud were toast. I rebuilt a pull and rustled up a vertical 7hp shroud. Just enough to to test for spark. Removed the drive belts. (This thing has no neutral) engine does have spark! Thank God!

Magnetron Ignition are amazing! The whole unit will be gently disassembled and put back together as per the manual. I have just enough of the implements to hurt myself! Lol

It's no Wheel Horse by no means, but a challenging and rewarding endeavor......

Regards,

Oldman

The drawing used for the offset from the carburetor base to the oil bath assembly. This is a must have to assure clearance for the barrel shaped hood. The elusive 90 degree also is a must have part. Again, many thanks to Jabelman for this contribution. Finally the desired result isn't as fancy as the factory set-up but should fit and function! Let's see how the welder does on this part. (I couldn't weld this thin material as nicely as the professional!)

Here are the parts thus-far. Expensive little offset! The 2" end had to be so to make the required spacing on the rods and reduce to 1-1/8. I tried the part and it fits nicely.

Here's an update, I decided to try and squeeze a 6 qt tank, combined two brackets, fits good. The hood clears nicely while closed. The muffler will exhaust straight out the front oval. The offset & carb clear the left side by 3/16th's! Lol.1641643309_BriggsStratton.gif.e53c93a2b79b08aeacad826457ee5044.gif

Here is the engine. I want to run it and give the drive train a test before I tear down the rest of the tractor.

I think that I found the second color, 2 bucks a can, Ollies. Valspar. Gloss Peacock Blue. Seems every time I find a color it's only available in spray bombs. Or too expensive otherwise. There is a spec of the original color on the push blade. Now it's not "perfect", however for me it's nice, especially at that price! Whenever I go back for the other cans that I hid, I'll check on a slightly brighter hue. I think it is really difficult to go by the capp alone.

The briggs started right up after a bit I got it to smooth out with adjustment. I tried to upload the video but it is futile.

Good to hear she's up and cooking.

No worries on the uploading. Just find somebody under the age of about 9 and tell them what you want done. It shall be solved.
