Yeah, that's the guy that advertises for reproduction Panzer parts. I don't know him personally and have never had him do anything but I have talked to him on the phone about the possibility of doing some belt guards. I can tell from our conversations he knows what he's doing and you're right, he may be a good source to contact about this.

Bob I apologize for being a little off topic here but I'm curious to know....

John, how did your conversation go about those belt guards?

Were you looking for something custom or just reproductions for stuff that's a little hard to find for us?

I ask because I've already had to modify a couple of my own on past builds and I'm going to need one or two more this next coming winter.

It was about reproduction RJ and Suburban belt guards.

Search "Panzer Parts" on Worcester Craigslist if you want to contact him

Update.

I did manage to get the 20 sets of metal from the prefab guy for a reduced rate. He does great work and now I'm in the process of making a full set. So we're back in business .

UPDATE

Ok I have some good news and some bad news.

I did get the metal for the seats and they are  made as good as the originals. I have half of the asking price in materal alone. So a set will be  $200.00 or $100.00 each. I didn't want them to be any more then the 1054/953 but it didn't work out. They did come out pretty good. I don't think anyone has ever made these and I can understand  why.

I'll sell only 5 sets before the Big Show to those that are not going. And I'll bring 10 sets to the show.

Bob

Those look spectacular, I don’t think you will have any trouble selling those for that price. Hope you have a great show.

Those seats look fantastic. I have one that came on my Brono 14 that's in decent shape.

Would you be able to do more if the customer supplies a seat to strip and recover? This way you wont need new metal plates?

I’d put one of those up next to a factory seat any day. Very nice Bob!

The metal plates are the highest cost of all the materal. I'm still thinking on how to reduce the price.

Ill keep posting updates.

Last update on the C160 seat.

I have tried to lower the price from $200.00 to keep the cost in line with my 1054/953 seats. Because the metal plates are the most expensive parts I've had to supply, I've decided to lower the price and with  the help of @bmiller0457reduce the cost to RedSquare members.

if you supply the metal from your old seat. Sort of like a bottle deposit.

The old metal must be clean and usable  (not rusted out or through just clean  metal )

I will deduct  $25.00  making the price $175.00 for a set .

(This is only for REDSQUARE MEMBERS )

(And only until the Big Show ends.)

After the Big Show I'll change this Add to show the full price of $200.00.

If you pm me before the Show ends and order a set  I'll honor that.

After the Big Show I should have enough metal plates to finish out this year.

And after the Big Show I'll advertise on other sites to sell to everyone else.

So if you are planing to  get a set and are not attending the Big Show you will have to get them to me at your expense or have a friend take them to the  Big Show for you.

I'm putting this Add in the For sale section.

@rjg854  bought the very first set.

Thank you dell. But now I see why I didn't want to make these last year.

So much work and money just to make one. So I'll have to make a dozen or two just to brake even.

This is the most time consuming seat to make and now I have to weld the seat frame to make it.

I’d like a set of your still making them?

I’d just need the cushions and foam, my metal is in great shape, but the vinyl is brittle and cracking on both top and bottom.

Contact Lowell @wheelhorseman, he has all the tools and goodies that Bob was using to make those seats, not sure if he has started doing them yet.

Handy Don

I just noticed the title of this thread.

Made me wonder if there were male and female genders of the C160 seats, at what age they were able to reproduce, and what the offspring are like?!

I on the other hand read the title and was worried the seat would try to reproduce with ME!!
