Daron1965 644 #1 Posted January 18, 2019 (edited) Hello all, Here in Western PA, ( about 30 miles North West of Pittsburgh), we are being told that we can expect anywhere from 10 to 18 inches of snow. It is to hit us around 0400Hrs Saturday and stick around until 1300Hrs Sunday. The more snow we get, the least chance of ICE. I hope we get ALL snow, ICE scares me. I will get some pics for you guys tomorrow Post some pics of your snow this weekend... PS. I see Eric in Maine is to get FEET of snow. His horses will get a workout. I hope that everyone stays safe, and enjoys the snow. . Edited January 18, 2019 by Daron1965 4

ol550 825 #8 Posted January 18, 2019 Hope the snow you get is easier to handle than the 20+ inches of heavy wet stuff we got last weekend.

rjg854 10,642 #13 Posted January 19, 2019 I've heard somewhere between 11-17" for me . We've only had a couple serious storms, both left about a foot on the ground. Its either a dusting or dumped on.
WHGuy413 2,450 #14 Posted January 19, 2019 We are looking at 8-14" here in western mass. They have been dropping their estimates all day. My 416h is ready with the 2 stage and my 753 is ready with the plow. By the time I get home I'm sure I wont want to do any of it with the tractors. Boss already said 1 to 2 am start Sunday morning. Then out by noon and back as soon as it finishes before the flash freeze.
JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,487 #15 Posted January 19, 2019 We are only getting 2 to 3 inches of snow, and than it turns to all rain. Than the big freeze. We only had a dusting Thursday night and by 10 am it was all neted and gone. Glenn
Daron1965 644 #16 Posted January 19, 2019 We got a dusting around 9am, now it's real lite sleet rain combination. They dropped the snow forecast down to 6 to 8 inches and possible 1/4 inch of ice. I hope we get the snow or rain. Time will tell.
ebinmaine 62,343 #17 Posted January 19, 2019 Nws downgraded us to a mere 14 or 15". Still could be fun......
The Tuul Crib 7,331 #18 Posted January 19, 2019 All these downgrades in the weather don't do much for the seat time on the tractor does it!!

Daron1965 644 #21 Posted January 20, 2019 Well, it's 0345hrs on Sunday. For the last 2 hours it's been icing here, everything is covered with ice. Temps fell 8 degrees in that time. Now it's snowing on top of the ice. Atleast working this midnight shift, I'm being paid to watch the snow..

I’m sure most on here are old enough to remember the Ms. Cleo commercials... “Call me now for ya free Tarot readin’!” I have a feeling that meteorologists in Indiana learned to focast the same place she did.
timo4352 147 #25 Posted January 20, 2019 Got my wish. We got plenty of snow, and blowing snow. I plowed 3 times yesterday and once again this morning. More than a foot for sure. The new plow on my horse worked great - no BS like the homemade plow. Having the cab is a blessing...the wind chill isn't a bother at all. We still have plenty of wind going, but sunny now. Tomorrow I'll be chasing a (gasp!) walk behind snowblower around at work for hours cleaning up. I'll be missing my horse. Two young men in an ATV - with a cab and plow - stopped to give me the thumbs up while I was plowing my brothers drive!
